I'm Sandra and I'm from Massachusetts. I like to make jewelry out of dead bugs. Some basic info:

1. A lot of people think that the dead bug hearts are sad, gross, or creepy. When a bug is alive, most of its interaction with people will probably be in the form of freaking them out. But when it's dead, you have a chance to look at it more closely, and to see how amazing it is.

The hearts are made from polyester casting resin. The bugs are found dead, collected from sheds, garages, and windowsills- I would never stick a live insect in resin, or kill one for the sake of art! The insect inside will never decay, because since oxygen cannot reach it, it is preserved forever.

2. The bugs I find and use the most are gypsy moths, mosquitos, small blue or green flies, houseflies, deerflies, bees, and various spiders.

3. I know next to nothing about the bugs I use, but I wouldn't mind being enlightened. I would love to hear from anyone who has taken the time to study these wee creatures if they had any information regarding proper names or interesting characteristics.

4. I would like to start a customer gallery. Please send me hot pictures of yourself wearing my dead bugs.
